What this website knows about you, and what it does not.

Very little, by design. This page sets out all of it: what you send us, what the site counts, where each goes, and how to ask us about it.

The short version

This site sets no cookies and shows no advertising. No page loads anything from another company, so no social network, map or advertiser watches your visit through us. The site counts visits for itself without knowing who is visiting, and a message you send through the contact form goes to the Mehfil Group of Restaurants team and nowhere else. Both are stored with a cloud provider in an account the group controls, as set out below. We do not sell anything we hold.

When you send us a message

The contact form asks for your message, and optionally your name and an email address or phone number so that we can answer. For a franchise enquiry, or a bulk or corporate one, the name and a way to reach you are needed, because we cannot act on those without replying. The form also records what the message is about, the restaurant it concerns if you pick one, and the page you sent it from.

The message is stored with a cloud provider, in an account the group controls. The team reads it there and uses it to deal with what you asked, and keeps it for as long as that takes. It is not passed to anyone outside the group.

What the site counts

To learn which pages help people and which do not, the site keeps its own counts. For each visit it records the pages viewed, the site or campaign link the visit came from, whether it was a phone, tablet or computer, the time zone and language your browser reports (which tells India from the UAE without an address), and taps on the links that matter to a restaurant: ordering, calling, directions and the handi ordering site. It also records what is typed into the branch search and whether it found a restaurant, any address that led to a missing page and the site the broken link was on, how far down the homepage a visit got, time spent on a page, and how quickly pages loaded.

None of that says who you are. A visit is a random number kept in the browser tab and forgotten when the tab closes. There are no cookies, the counts never include your IP address, and nothing follows you from one visit to the next. Anything typed into the branch search that looks like a phone number or an email address is removed on your own device before it is sent. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, the site counts nothing at all for that visit.

The counts are stored the same way, and only the group's team sees them, on a private page. We keep each visit in detail for three months, then delete it, keeping only the monthly totals.

Your location

The branches page has a button that finds the restaurants nearest to you. Your browser asks your permission first. The distances are worked out on your own device, and your location is never sent to us or to anyone else. The site counts only that the button was pressed.

What is kept in your browser

Two small things, neither of them a cookie. The random number for the visit above, which the browser drops when the tab closes. And a copy of one page, the notice you see if your connection drops while you are browsing, so that you get a clear message instead of an error. No other page is stored.

Asking about your information

You can ask what we hold from a message you sent, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us through the contact page, choose “Something else”, and say which message it concerns. The visit counts cannot be traced back to a person, so there is nothing in them we could find or remove for you. To stop being counted at all, turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser.

The site is not meant for children and does not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes to this page

When what the site collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date below moves. The terms of use cover the rest of how the site works.
